General Considerations
This was the Century of revolution and war with the first half of the century overshadowed by two global wars.
There were great scientific advancements with airplanes / radar / atomic energy / etc… One of the most relevant inventions to music was the ability to record music and then transmit these recordings to anyone in the world.
The music of this era has reverted back to expressionism and or music with a function (purpose)
