Borough Wide Evening Activities

Borough-Wide activities draws pupils from all over the borough, to make music together. This gives everyone a chance to play in a bigger group, to make new friends and to meet new teachers. Joining an ensemble will also help to develop broad musical skills, which are very valuable.

TRAINING BRASS BAND

This ensemble offers an introduction to Brass Band playing and is good preparation for membership of Havering Youth Brass Band. They enjoy performing regularly at borough concerts.

STANDARD: GRADE 1-3

DAY: TUESDAYS

TIME: 4.15 – 5.15pm

VENUE: Gidea Park Primary School, Lodge Ave, Gidea Park.


HAVERING YOUTH ORCHESTRA

The Youth Orchestra plays a wide range of music and benefits from sectional rehearsals. The entry standard is approximately Grade 5 for string players and Grade 6 for wind, brass and percussion players. Members are expected to have a good level of sight reading skills.

STANDARD: GRADE 5/6 - Advanced

DAY: MONDAYS

TIME: 6.00 - 8.00 pm

VENUE: Sixth Form College, Wingletye Lane, Hornchurch


SOUND COMPANY

This is an adult choir. Some singing experience is preferable. Please speak directly to John Morris through the Music Centre for advice and details.

DAY: TUESDAYS

TIME: 8.00 – 10.00 pm
